Kekova boat trip, Kaş Turkey 4-30-26

April 30, 2026

Because it's low season, we had to wait until they could round up 6 passengers. This took a couple days. The bus ride on the winding roads wasn't a good start to my day, so instead we drove 40 min to Üçağiz Village to catch our boat, the Domino.

picture perfect day

Aquarium Bay--too chilly & breezy for us to swim

Aquarium Bay, too breezy and cool for us to swim

Shipyard Bay, where historical ruins from Ancient Roman Byzantine ruins still stand was the first place we swam. It was a unique feeling to swim over building ruins from Roman times.

Roman ruins
Byzantine ruins
Know how to tell the difference? Byzantine fit together without mortar!

Next stop Kekova island underwater ruins, no swimming, it's protected.

Cave that doesn't allow for swimming because seals live nearby.

Castle/Kale in Turkish in Simena.  Heard there was also a theater here, but we've seen plenty. Still a nice climb with view and tombs. Kekova travel website: The history of Simena dates back to as far as the 4th century B.C, with the origins of the castle itself going back to the Roman and Byzantine periods.
