Blue Cave, Puzzle Museum day ferry from Kaş Turkey to Kastellorizo Greece

Looking at exit to Blue Cave, Kastellorizo Greece.  The water is really that color!

From our apartment in Kaş Turkey, we can see  the island of Kastellorizo in Greece

May 2, 2026

Today we took a 30 min ferry to Kastellorizo Greece for the day. We hadn't anticipated the 2 hrs to be processed 4 times through passport control. If you go, probably worth your time to be early to be closer to the front of the line. If you don't have ESS, EU's Entry/Exit System that replaces manual passport stamping with digital facial scans and fingerprints it takes longer to enter the island.

In the morning's  brilliant sunshine and we paid E15 each and only two of us in the boat with Captain Stavros to the Blue Cave.

Note the very small entry to the Blue Cave!  We all had to lay down on the floor of the boat to enter.

 Tiny entry

Taken with my cell phone, I was amazed at the color and detail

Kastellorizo Greece is a tourist town, we walked the beautiful waterfront

Lunch: eggplant, octopus and moussaka made with heavy layer of potato! Thin on the eggplant

off the waterfront, things look very different (old and crumbling)

Megisti Puzzle Museum
I'd read a terrific blog (https://frugalfrolicker.com/kastellorizo-greece-from-turkey)  early this morning and knew we'd enjoy the Megisti Puzzle MuseumNo tickets, but booking is essential. WhatsApp number provided on website. He is foremost a mathematician. He collaborates with Rubik! The tour lasted 2 hours.
Never have we experienced an insightful teacher who uses puzzles as a tool for learning.
