Patras Greece November 2025
Visited mid November 2025
Patras Greece was unexpectedly charming and not touristy when we visited. Located in the northern Peloponnese, 215 km (134 mi) west of Athens, the city is built at the foot of Mount Panachaikon, overlooking the Gulf of Patras. Website Visit Greece describes this city as "a bustling student city, a place where entertainment, history and culture mingle together to create a destination filled with wonderful discoveries. Gifted by nature, Patras is nowadays a commercial hub and Greece’s third most significant city". We spent almost 24 hours in Patras in order to meet with a lawyer.
We enjoyed walking around the city in addition to creative wall art, there's a nice coastal walk.
Don't these cats have some prime real estate?
Vibrant downtown
We ate a great meal at La Lila and reveled in the street pedestrian crowds (not crowed, just lively)
We stayed at Days City Suites booked with Booking.com for $110USD including breakfast.
Tight squeeze with our 10 Euro parking space from hotel
However our room was spacious and if you look to the horizon, you see the coast!

We walked around the following morning until our meeting with the lawyer. After a nice walk along the coast, we marveled at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. One of the largest in the Balkans, this Greek Orthodox basilica is built in Byzantine style on the spot where the Apostle Andrew was martyred. It features stunning mosaics, a huge dome, relics of St. Andrew, and a capacity for thousands, making it a major pilgrimage site.
After our meeting with the lawyer, we asked for a recommendation for a seafood lunch. Nikos recommended the Sailing Club of Patras. It was a memorably fantastic seafood extravaganza with exceptional service.
Beautiful views on a warm afternoon in November
