Avignon Market Day

Avignon Market

Saturday mornings is market day in Avignon, France.

Seeing a line every time we passed Mimi bakery, I looked in the side window and knew it would be worth the wait. There was a loaf of white bread that was not traditional looking and very appealing.  I felt I could  visualize the texture before I cut a slice.  The loaf was so big, they offered to cut it in half which was very thoughtful. Bread was sold by the kg.  I've eaten half the half loaf before I thought to snap a photo.  The stacks of flour at the entry reminded me of 5 Guys.

In addition to the 1/2 loaf, I got a savory something that was delicious. The guy in front of me ordered it so I did too. If I knew French, I might be able to have told you more because she described to me.

There were also plants for sale and these blooms were so tempting to take to our flat since we're here another 10 days.
